Have you ever stretched a rubber band? Rubber is pretty neat. I am amazed at how much it can change with just a little tug.
New situations demand that we stretch outside of our comfort zone, and often it doesn’t take long before we think we’ve reached our limit. This is when we start coming up with rationalizations for quitting. But try this little exercise. Extend your arms up and see how far you can reach. Now try this. See if you can stretch even a little bit further. Were you able to reach any higher? Typically we have a bit more to give than we initially thought.
Do you feel like you are hitting a wall and want to stop trying? Don’t give in to those thoughts! Remember that every inch you stretch is an investment in yourself. Keep pushing until you’ve reached your goal.
