Sometimes it is easier to break projects into smaller tasks. A couple of days ago, the challenge involved de-cluttering your shirts and tops. Today we will take the next step and sort through the clothing for the bottom half. Our challenge is intensifying a bit each day, as we’ve been increasing the number of items to shed. The challenge is to find eight items from any or all of the following:
- Pants
- Jeans
- Shorts
- Capri Pants
- Sweatpants
- Skirts
- Leggings
- Jeggings
- Tights
- Athletic Pants
The approach today is similar to what we’ve already discussed. Look for pieces that you no longer enjoy wearing, either because they are ripped, torn, stained, damaged, ill-fitting, or simply no longer to your taste. Many people tend to hold onto pants that are one size too small or large for normal weight fluctuations; this is fine, but keep it to just a couple of pairs.
If the idea of trying on pants seems dreary, here is a funny story that might help you get rid of that pair that is just too tight!
Think you can find eight? Let us know…

I seriously have to do this and thanks for the added push here tonight!

I had to do this one myself! I have found that writing them has made me go work on each area in my own home!
Very apt video clip, I remember when my sister used to lay on the bed so she could get the zip on her jeans done up, then would walk around like a mummy all day because they were so tight. Never be a fashion victim.

I definitely remember trying to lie down on the bed to get my jeans zipped up! I think that was thing for awhile. Needless to say, those days are over for me:)
I recently got rid of worn pants recently, but forgot my exercise pants, I will go through that today. =)

That’s why I am writing these lists of choices… and I had to think about it for a bit!
I admit I held onto my pre-pregnancy jeans for ages. Even after I had gone down to my normal weight, I somehow thought my hips would somehow go away? No. Never.
Finally I took the plunge last year and junked most of them. Sob. Now I have about four pairs of jeans I truly love.

I probably have about four as well. AND… you have all that space you freed up by taking that plunge and letting go. Funny how we think we will somehow shrink completely back to pre-pregnancy frame. It isn’t even the weight as much as the shape!
I did this last week. I had at least 10 pairs of pants that were too small, out of season, or just made me look terrible. Bonus tip: Ziplock makes those squishy storage bags now for cheap. I bought several sets of them and scrunched down all my out of season clothes to take like half the room.
Great tip on the Ziplock bags! I’ve decided life is just too short to hold onto pants that are too tight. Who needs that?
