Yesterday we talked about setting priorities for your time. Today’s quote takes this one step further. It comes from organizing and productivity expert Gretchen Rubin, who said, “Secret of adulthood: Every to-do list should include at least one item that can be crossed off within five minutes.”
I love this quote because it is simple and actionable. What feels better than crossing an item off of your list? I don’t know about you, but marking a task “completed” makes me feel terrific. Therefore, why not make sure every day has at least one task that we can do easily right off the bat; a small way to start each day feeling like a winner?
Today’s challenge is simply to add one item to your to-do list that you can complete in five minutes. If you really want to be a Rockstar, try to add such a task to your list each day for the rest of the month.
I think we might all really like this one. What five-minute task will you add?

Oh, yes. Fold Des’ laundry! It only takes five minutes but fills me with dread. I can do this. I can do this.

Love that one! Feels good to get it done, right?
Gretchen has so many good words of wisdom! I agree that quick wins help build momentum and give us a little happiness boost. 😊

Feels so great to see a few “filled in” boxes right at the beginning of the day!
Pick dinner menu. I usually do that in the morning so I know if I need to thaw something. It’s a great idea because I usually have so many things on my list I don’t get done it’s nice to concentrate on what I did get done.
I love that one, Dianne! That’s exactly the kind of thing you can decide, act on, and check off the list.
