It is the 21st day of 2021. Maybe this day will bring you luck! Regardless, we are continuing our monthlong series “Make a Fresh Start” by talking about small steps we can take to refresh and renew our bodies.
Today I’m encouraging you to think of one healthy item you are willing to add to your diet. There are many healthy options available these days, most in your average grocery store.
There are the obvious choices, such as fruits and veggies, high fiber foods, healthy fats, etc. Maybe you have heard of something a friend or family member has tried and liked. Or, perhaps you’ve seen a recipe online with a healthy ingredient you’ve been wanting to try. Another alternative is to add a supplement to your diet. [Be sure to consult your doctor before beginning any dietary regime.] Your choice may be to try an organic product. This could also be as simple as choosing to have a cup of herbal tea in the afternoon.
Admittedly, people have differing ideas on which foods are “healthy.” This is perfectly fine. My goal with this series is simply to encourage mindful, intentional decision-making. You may find you need to try a few new foods until you find something you actually like. Remember, this isn’t about forcing yourself to consume something you hate, but rather to find a healthy option that you actually enjoy.
Is there a food or drink you’ve been wanting to explore? Do you have a great one to recommend?

Have to brainstorm and see what I can come up with for adding healthy food to my diet now. So, thanks for the fun challenge 🙂
I’d love to hear if you come up with something! I’m always open to new, healthy options:)
I am trying to find a recipe for Kale that I like. I got a suggestion recently to add garlic so I going to try it. So far I haven’t had any luck with it. It’s supposed to be good to prevent macular degeneration. I’ll let you know how I like it with garlic.
Yes, kale benefits from a bit of “flavoring up!” It is also good in soups because it doesn’t wilt too much.
