This was a hothouse at Longwood Gardens in PA. I always feel a bit on the short side, but standing next to this giant made me feel pretty insignificant.
Making comparisons is human nature. Whenever we are pursuing a difficult change, it is tempting to look around at others who seem to be doing better than we are. This is a bad idea because all it does is damage our self-esteem and chip away at our motivation.
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. When we are tempted to compare ourselves to someone else, we can choose instead to put “blinders” on and return focus to our plan of action. Our goal should never be to become like someone else, but to become the best “us” we can.

What can I say, but that I couldn’t love this advice more as it is truly important for us to indeed be the best we can be. So most definitely agree with you here on this tip 😉
Hard to resist comparisons… I struggle as much as anyone. However, certainly worth the effort to keep ourselves from getting discouraged. Was that a crazy huge cactus or what?
