Both these are great tips. I do have a staging area for both girls, but the playlist I never thought to do. I happen to love music and need to try this as I think this a perfect mental timer for getting us out the door for the bus in the morning. Thank you for sharing, Seana!! 🙂 Janine Huldie recently posted…12 Must Read Fall 2017 Books
What a fun new medium for you! The video looks great! I like the playlist idea. I think, especially with kids, that music can get you up and moving. Goodness knows my son is going to get to a point where he won’t want to hear my singing anymore!
You can do the same for any time when you need to stay “on task” for a period of time. I find it works incredibly well, and it is much more pleasant than nagging every five minutes!
Great video and great tips! I love the playlist idea – music is a wonderful motivator and can be helpful for those who aren’t morning people 🙂 Love this post!
I agree, Liana. Putting music on is very motivating. I like background noise, but having the TV on can distract me from the task at hand. Music just keeps me moving:)
Thanks, Amberly. The playlist can be a very pleasant way to stay on track. After all, you can put on your favorite tunes, or a new classical or jazz list that provides just a little auditory motivation!
Thanks, Sabrina. The playlist tip can also help when studying or doing anything where you need a timer running in the background. It’s worked for many people!
Great tips, Seana! My son will love the playlist idea (and I’ll love not having to nag him). I’m a visual person, to the staging area tips is prefect for me. Susan Santoro recently posted…Halloween Treat Bags You Make Last Minute
Thanks, Ellen. I’m always surprised by how quickly the time goes in the morning. Even when you make the most of the night before, it can still be hard!
I am a morning person, so I don’t have any problems with waking up and having a great start of a day.. but my husband could use few of your tips 😀 Marina @ Parental Journey recently posted…How to Deal With Your Child Screaming in Public
I think, for the most part, that adult life is easier for the early risers. I too tend to be more of a morning person, which was rough in the college years, but now it serves me well!
My husband isn’t great until he’s had his first pot of coffee:) Not all tricks work for all people, but if a little habit can make life easier, why not, right? Thanks for the video affirmation!
Well how fun is this? I love the idea of a morning playlist. I implemented the staging area idea last week and I am loving the results! We haven’t been late yet.
Yay! I’m so glad the staging area is working out. I think everyone loves this concept! Let me know how everyone likes the playlist:) And sleep in tomorrow… happy weekend!

The playlist is a sort of a secret weapon. Works for all ages and stages! Have a great week, Janine!

This just reiterated things I already know I need to be doing. Thanks Seana!

Great tips, Seana. I will share the playlist tip with my kids. They listen to music all the time in the morning. Thanks for sharing.

I love bothe these tips. I’d never have thought of the playlist myself!
The playlist can be a great tool. Somehow music keeps us moving forward, while screen time can slow us down. Get up and put on your favorite tunes!

Music is great for kids (and teens!) To be honest, nobody likes to be nagged. But at the same time, we need to get out the door on time, right?
Super smart ideas!

You are GREAT in this video! I love your tips—I’m not much if a morning person, I’ll admit—well, at least until I have my first cup of coffee!

I am not a morning person but I think have a routine, music (great idea), and some coffee can really help!

Coffee makes everything better:) I often sit at my kitchen island and give thanks for that warm cup in my hand!
