In the world of professional organizing, January is GO! – or Get Organized – month. The combination of holiday clutter, cold days stuck inside, and the promise of a new year make January the perfect month to clear out and start fresh.
Each year, The Seana Method runs a “Get Organized Challenge.” This year, our challenge is completely new, designed to be both easy and fun. We will begin by shedding one item on January 1st, two on January 2nd, and so on. Each day has a theme, so by the 31st, you will have tackled many spaces in your home.
Are you ready to get organized? There are four ways to take participate in the challenge:
- Check back here each day to see the daily challenge posted on the blog (no spam, you check in whenever you wish.)
- Check the box at the bottom of this page that says “Notify me of new posts by email.” By checking this box, you will receive an email each day with the challenge.
- “Like” The Seana Method on Facebook (click to the right), where I will share each day’s challenge.
- Follow The Seana Method on Bloglovin’ (click to the right). The daily challenge will come as an email, along with other blogs you are following on Bloglovin’.
There is no better time than now to clear the clutter. It’s easier and faster than losing weight, and feels even better. Are you ready to get organized? See you January 1st!

Can’t wait to see what you come up with for this and want to also wish you a very, Happy New Year now!! 😉

Cassidy may already have your home in good shape, Tamara. But great to have you on board and hope everyone has some fun! Happy (almost) New Year!
I’ll give it a try Seanna!
Great to have you on board, Nancy! Hoping it will be fun for everyone involved. Happy (almost) New Year!
I meant Seana!
I’m so excited to join you in this challenge. You made me chuckle with “it’s easier than losing weight.” Decluttering is so liberating and removes the weight of “stuff” from your shoulders. In January I’m sharing a new 10-minute purging tip in my 31 Days of 10-Minute Purging Tips on Organized 31. Together with both our tips, we’ll be able to declutter and jump into the new year.
I think we are all on a similar page in the month of January. And I so agree.. it feels WONDERFUL to declutter and make space for what we care about most today. Going to be a great month!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh, I am so all over this, you have no idea!!! <3 – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com

I hope it will be a fun way for followers to kick-start an organizing project. Those who take part will have cleared a fair amount of clutter by January 31st! I’m hoping that even those who are fairly organized and don’t have much clutter will find an item or two to shed.
Looking forward to it, Seana! Will definitely be sharing with my followers also. =)

Thanks, Sabrina. I doubt you will find much to declutter, but you never know. Even we POs have a few items we can let go of, right?
Great way to get everyone started!
I am hoping it will be fun and light, and just as you say, a way to “start” (which we know can be the toughest part!) Happy New Year, Ellen!
