Yesterday I attended the 6th annual NorthEast Regional Conference for Productivity and Organizing Professionals (NERCPO). It was all virtual this year, with the tag line “no masks required.” Once again, the NAPO-CT conference team put together a terrific conference, and I had a wonderful time learning from and networking with other organizers. Additionally, I had the pleasure of reprising my role as “game host,” running a brief break in the action for the sheer purpose of having fun.
Since all attendees were attending via computer screens, I created a game that was heavily visual. The challenge was to identify popular organizing products from a series of close-up photographs. There were 15 products in all, and players could get up to two points per photograph:
- 1 point for identifying the type of product
- 1 point for knowing the product brand name
We had a good time playing the game, and the winner scored 24.
Since people are often curious to know what tools and products professional organizers use, I thought my blog readers might enjoy playing the game. Needless to say, this is in no way a comprehensive list of organizing solutions. Think of it more as a sampling of tools that often come in handy on organizing projects. Also, I am not promoting these products or being compensated to feature them.

One of my photography groups often has a “What is it?” day, and you’ve also given me some inspiration for future possibilities.
The conference was great, and I loved the interaction with so many folks whom I don’t normally get to “see.” Being in charge of the game is an extra privilege – we can all use a bit of fun right now, right?
I only got a few of the products correct but when I saw your answers I realized I use all of them either in my own home or for my clients. It sounds like it was a wonderful day. I’m sorry to have missed it.

You have to come next year, Ronni. It really is fun and informative. Plus, you meet so many organizers from the area, which helps when you need to pass on a referral for a neighboring area. Because we were virtual this year, we had organizers from all over. The game is just a bit of fun in the middle of the day. I love doing it:)
I had the pleasure of going to NERCPO, and it was terrific! You and your NAPO-CT colleagues do a fantastic job putting on conferences. I’ve attended every single one, and they are always excellent. This time, I especially enjoyed your game. You’re such a great game host! I did pretty well, but the close-ups of #5, 7, 11, and 13 stumped me. It was a joy to play and proudly brought out the organizing nerd in me. Thank you for all you have done and for continuing to bring excellent educational opportunities combined with networking and fun to our industry.

That was fun! My husband and I did your quiz. We did pretty well. I got 12 out of 15, and he got 13 out of 15. He recognized more stuff than I did because he used the Grid-it Cocoon Accessory organizer and recognized it right away. lol

I think it would work in a number of settings. It was fun, and a great way to engage people spread across the country in front their screens!
