The New Year is almost upon us, and beginning on January 2, The Seana Method will be kicking off GO! (Get Organized!) Month 2017. This year’s theme is “The Digital Declutter,” and each day we will be tackling a different aspect of digital life. Some of these tasks will be on your devices, and others will focus on the hardware and accessories you may have accumulated over time.
Each task is designed to take between 15 and 45 minutes, although with many of them you can spend as much (or as little) time as you wish. You can go bold and commit to doing all 30, or pick and choose the ones that interest you the most.
If you’d like to join the challenge, now is the time to do the following:
- Block off space on your calendar each day to tackle the challenge.
- Sign up to follow my blog by entering your email address in the box to the right of this post where it says, “Subscribe to Seana’s blog.” This will ensure that each day’s task arrives in your inbox.
- If you don’t wish to subscribe, check my Facebook page each day to see a link to the post.
If you join this challenge, by the time February arrives, you will have taken a significant step toward decluttering your digital life. If you make progress at any time during the month, please share it – I’d love to celebrate your successes! You can also send any questions you might have to the The Seana Method.
There is no better way to kick off the New Year than by getting organized. I hope you enjoy this special month!

What a great challenge and look forward to seeing what digital organizational advice you will be sharing with us now 😉

Hope you’ll join in, Janine. Although you are so organized I’m not sure you will have much to do:) Have a great week — take some time off:)
Ooh, digital decluttering is a good one! People forget about the clutter they don’t often “see!”
For that reason, it can be less satisfying. However, it must be done, so might as well do it with a group:)
My digital clutter is driving me crazy – can’t wait to see your ideas!

I hope these are good ideas. Sometimes just setting aside the time is a step in the right direction. Should be fun!
I love this challenge. We all have digital clutter and it can really get out of hand the busier we get. I am going to be checking it out. =)
I decided to branch into a new direction for this year’s challenge. It is tricky because everyone is on different platforms, but hopefully everyone will be able to find a few tasks that payoff:)
I love this challenge too and am ready to join you on the 30 day journey to declutter my digital life! Thanks for this.
So appreciate of this positive feedback. A bit tricky with the different devices and platforms, but decided to give it a whirl!
Wuhooo, I’m excited for sure! I need this in my life. 🙂
Okay, get ready for some fun! I will be so appreciative of comments on this one… new approach to the Get Organized! Challenge:)
So awesome. You have such skills that I’d love to see what you say about digital decluttering. I just emptied ONE email folder, and it took nearly an hour and now I’m wiped!

You are a step ahead of the challenge then, Tamara. We’ll see what other progress we can make next month. Every little bit counts!!
Great idea! Digital clutter has really piled up recently and it’s a great focus for GO Month! I am looking forward to learning more here!
I will probably earn as much from the comments by my fellow organizers as I post myself – should be a great month!
I’m excited about working through this challenge. Unless we can get rid of technology, we need to tackle clearing out all that digital clutter. Thanks, Seana.

I hope it proves to be helpful, Susan. Better to make some progress than none at all, and I will appreciate feedback from my fellow organizers:)
We all have SO much digital clutter. It’s so easliy hidden that we often aren’t aware of how much is lurking in our digital files. What a great focus for GO Month! I’m sure you’ll help a lot of people clear things out. Way to go Seana!

I hope it is a success for those who follow along. I agree that we discount digital clutter because so much of it is invisible, and therefore doesn’t seem like a burden. However, the same principles really do apply to both digital and physical objects, so it is always worth the effort. Looking forward to GO Month!
Tackling my clutter, digital and otherwise, is one of my goals for 2017. I will be following along for sure. I can’t wait to see where you start. I thought about tackling my digital life today but got indecisive on where to begin.
Digital clutter is such a large category that it can be hard to tell where to start (and where to stop!) Hopefully this challenge will at least get people started. Looking forward to having you follow along nd giving me feedback to help make it better!
Digital clutter is overwhelming and often overlooked when it comes time to declutter. I look forward to this challenge and tackling this in 2017!
Thanks for following along – looking forward to a fun and productive month!
